I like side plates vs. wood grip, but wanted a set that was a bit wider and fit my hand better. After some searching, I just decided to make my own out of elk antler. Used a sawzall for the cutting, angle grinder with sanding desks for the heavy work, and a couple different files and hand sanding for the finishing touches. Would have been a little easier with a belt sander and dremel, but I made due with what I had.

Thanks. Not as difficult as you might think, just takes patience. Get a good mask too, because there will be antler dust everywhere. I had anlter dust covering the whole garage by the time I was done.

Looks great! Im gonna guess it took about 5-6 of those blue cans to complete? Thats how I typically estimate garage project time.
