For those that have had a custom build done by a custom “named business” builder with individual components …… action, barrel, stock, bottom metal, etc. that you chose and not their manufacture, do you like to see the builder put their name and/or logo nicely designed and put (engraved?) on your finished rifle? Curious to that others prefer.

I had a build done like this several years ago. I picked the components and specs I wanted. End result was excellent, and wow does it shoot extremely well! Expensive and no regrets, but the only identifying mark by the builder/shop was two small letters. I guess they didn’t have the equipment to do engraving. I think it would have been a nice touch, good for marketing their shop, and also create provenance for the rifle.

I purchased all my components individually and assembled my rifle myself. I bought a defiance action and bought a prefit barrel that has the company logo and name visible on the side aligned with the stock. I didn’t ask for it/know that it would come that way. It doesn’t really bother me much, he takes pride in his barrels.

My smith says there is a minimum amount of information he has to put on the barrel per atf rules and it has to be so big and so deeply engraved. Maybe just the cartridge, but I obviously don't know the specifics. Maybe I’m also confusing the action name and serial numbers.
