Curtis Scout Action

What are your concerns? Curtis is a known quantity from a quality standpoint. They make nice stuff.

Maybe a better question is what do you want this new rifle to be like?

No concerns, was just curious if anyone has used that particular action. It’s at a lower price point by a couple hundred bucks compared to their top of the line actions. I’m just building a hunting rifle and was wanting to build it myself vs buying something off the shelf.

If I don’t go this route I’ll probably build off a Tikka or Bergara donor. One thing that caught my eye on the Curtis action was the REM 700 platform with the 60 degree bolt throw.

I’m currently having a prc built on an axiom hybrid. The gunsmith ordered the scout as well. It’s a smooth action just a little less polished than the axiom. I wouldn’t hesitate building something with one.

Thanks for the feedback.

I built a 22 Creedmoor off a Tikka donor but by the time I bought an upgraded bolt handle, pic rail, and put in all the time to sell the stock and barrel figured I’d be same money as the Scout. Was hoping to go with REM 700 platform and have the Hawkins Precision flush magazine in an AG Composites stock.
