hey whats up everyone. currently deployed overseas in the sandbox. staying busy is making time is going by pretty fast which is great. so i started to think of what should i do for a hunt this year. sucks that i am out here so communicating with outfitters is pretty tough unless its through email. i am thinking of maybe whitetail, mule deer or antelope hunt. could be either rifle or archery. i am trying to plan now so i have everything ready for when i get back. wanted to see what outfitters/guide you guys can recommend that you guys have experience with. home is south florida so i will be flying anywhere i go. thanks again and i am looking forward to your responses.

I am in the same boat but stationed at FT Bliss so it leaves more options. I head back in a month and can't wait for OTC turkey and Barbary Sheep in NM. The worst part is not being able to scout much at all but its way better then sitting at home.

I've been in your situation so many times... I totally get it (and don't miss it). Trying to plan a outfitted/guided hunt when you have sporatic email and no phone is a PITA. Even worse in planning a DIY hunt sometimes. One of the things I used to do was rely on a trusted buddy to help me when phone calls were needed. I trusted his judgement.

Sounds like you're open to about anything. When do you want to hunt? I'm happy to help you and talk with any outfitters on your behalf if we get some upfront dialog going now. PM me if you're interested.

I'm currently stationed at Ft. Bliss. I'm pretty sure New Mexico has an oryx hunt for soldiers who have been deployed. Not sure, check the new Mexico regs.

Nevermind, just looked. It's only for new Mexico residents returning from deployment or injured veterans.

Thanks man. I am in the process of first trying to find an outfitter. I'll keep you in mind once I find a few that interest me
