Current Favorite Bugle Tube

The old Phelps tube. I think it's the unleashed? It's large but I don't mind carrying it, called in probably over 50 elk with the dang thing and it's what I have confidence with. I think I bought it in 2015?
If I ever loose it my soul might be crushed!

Rocky Mountain is the tube I have been using for the last few years. Pretty nice bulls with it, so no complaints. I find it doesn't matter what I think it sounds like anymore, it is what they like. We all know when we hear that other hunter, so I guess just don't sound like that. Now the idea of making my own is seeming more appealing.

I've tried a few. My favorite is the Rocky Mountain Bully Bull with a few customizations, after that probably the Native, mainly because of how I carry them in the woods. The wapiti river has a rubber flared mouthpiece that is larger and I use it on the other tubes making them seal better. There are some sound differences inside but in the woods I think they're all effective. I think the volume and tone that the user can get out of the reed has a larger impact on a realistic sound in the woods.

I haven't tried the Elknut tube but would love to find one. I should probably sell half of these but I like to tinker and practice calling too much.

@Steven.Elmore I see the Riven wood tube in your collection. You prefer the Bully Tube over it? The Bully has been my tube for a decade, so curious if the Riven is worth the 💰💰?

@Ross I do. The mouthpiece is small on the Riven for me because it isn't flared and I just can't tell enough difference between it and the Bully outside to tell someone it's worth the extra money. It has a great sound inside, especially with a thinner reed, but on the mountain, with a pack on, out of breath it just didn't work for me.
