Crossfit!!?

LJ, I checked out their website. Looks like an awesome place. That's the kind of thing I can see getting from Cross fit. I'm in pretty decent shape, and do fine when I elk hunt out west. But I know I can be better and a gym-rat is something I've never inspired to be!

Wrestled in college as well. Been dying to get back in that kind of shape again. Does crossfit get you there?

Just a quick update. I should have started x-fit two weeks ago but with the ice storms the classes were cancelled. So we started this past monday. So far I think I'm really gonna like it! It's pretty awesome and already can see how big the befefits will be. Thanks for all the advice!

My advice would be to take it slow and get the movements down first. Once you get the movements down you can then push yourself. Have fun!!

Elkfitness, this box actually requires a "start-up" class that you have to go through no matter how experienced/inexperienced you are. That is actually one of the things they stress is proper form and making you go through all aspects of the mechanics of different lifts/exercises.

Good to hear! Mine has one but did not require it, so I scaled on my own (and had some coaches scale things as well in certain workouts) before I for things down.

Great to hear! Crossfit is a hell of a good program and I love the community, the varied fitness, the excitement, the friendly competition and the drive to make yourself better. I'm in the best shape of my life right now at 33. Just did my first Open workout as well with 15.1 which was a hell of a lot of fun!!!

Oh, and its Crossfit, not 'x-fit'... :)
