Changing things up a little this year.

Kind of a "new year new bow new me" kind of thing.

Old build is a 28" BE rampage 4 Heat vanes. 75 Gr HIT, 10 gr sleeve and 100 gr point. Comes out 485gr.

My Powermax was throwing them 265 and my Rx10 is shading 285.

Giving real thought to breaking the HITs and dropping some weight.

I know 285 is the "sweet spot" but I ain't had a bow capable of 300 and I kind of want to.

Maybe make a split dozen....

Taking off the break away on the brass hit will only drop 25 grains. Figure you’ll gain about eight fps give or take. Be in the low 290’s. 300 is a cool speed, but how do they shoot now? You might end up not liking it as much. If you want 300, you’ll probably need to do a 25 grain hit.

If it's shooting well at 285, I would leave our current arrows alone.

What's your poundage?

If you just want to try 300 fps, I would start with new components; that way, if something doesn't work out, you can return to your original arrows.

@Mighty Mouse is right. If you want to try it I have a bunch of 16gr HITs and will send you some. Use hotmelt and you can switch them out if you don’t like it.
