Cripples

Exactly why it is incredibly hard to pheasant hunt without a good dog (and why people shouldn’t)! Awesome picture!

I am retired an hunt upland about 6 mornings per week. 2 labs that I rotate.
I would never hunt upland without a dog...for me it would not be any fun.
Working with a lab as a team on late season wild roosters is so rewarding.

I wouldn’t hunt any bird with out a dog. Got to watch mine dive completely under water chasing a gadwall last weekend . Amazing animals

My golden retriever would go into places to find and retrieve a dove that to this day I can’t figure how she did it. She had to have been part snake!
Dogs give us so much and do so much for us and ask for so little in return. And I’m not just talking about field dogs. I’ve always felt that God gave man the dog to show him what pure, unadulterated love looks like.

I stopped pheasant hunting when I was without bird dog, hunting in 3-4’ prairie grass lose most cripples and dont find dead birds. Same thing with dove hunting in brush, partners without dogs cant find a dead bird, my gsp finds it in a minute or two after they look for 10 minutes.
