Creepy experiences in the backcountry

After reading the many stories from down south….. I really wish we had the opportunity to wilderness carry our handguns. There have been a couple of times I would have felt much more at ease with my 10 mm at my side. Too bad we only get to shoot and carry handguns at approved ranges. Even my 9 mm Jericho would make me feel better some days. Maybe Trump is right…… we need to become the 51st state…. Did I really just type that….LOL.

Not a creepy story but probably the most scared I have ever been while hunting. About 15 years ago I was hunting in the Frank Church, I shot a mule deer buck in the middle of a very large burn. there were thousands of standing burnt trees like telephone poles. We were taking our time getting pictures and boning out the buck when all of a sudden, you could see a storm coming very quickly over the next ridge. Within minutes the winds were gusting to probably 70 mph. The burnt trees started falling all around us and there was no way to get out of burn so we had to sit it out hoping that none of them landed on us. Like I said not creepy but I don't think I have ever felt so helpless in my life.

I was sitting a clearcut one evening, just sitting off the side of a gravel road but was on the inside of a bend so the road behind me was hidden by reprod. Very clearly heard steps coming up closer and closer, went out to take a look and nothing.
