My HD/truck guns may or may not allegedly have some tungsten BB Im also fairly certain it'll go thru glass like butter, and if im feeling creative maybe a pong shot off of the concrete would probably do the trick too .

Can, but not necessarily will. A heavily constructed .375 bullet at moderate speed is likely not going to do as much damage as a 5.56 round of proper construction at very high speed. How many big "stopping" bullets did mufasa soak up in that video? I bet it was a few.

I've shot a lot of deer with a .338 win mag, that wasn't a joke earlier. The damage from a 230gr bonded bullet at 2700 fps is usually far far less than is typical from a .270 with 130gr soft points. Sure, the .338 bullet probably killed more trees behind the deer than the .270 did, but that doesn't count for anything.

If I'd be headed out on a grizzer bear hunt I'd probably take my .338 because why else have one? If somebody handed me a 6.5 creedmoor with decent bullets, I'd gleefully go out and shoot a bear with it.

Africa, at least for cats(predators), will have a revolution with an AR and 30 rounds of 77’s lol. The elephants and buffs would need a little more sd and less expandable bullets as cns is your only hope anyway but who’s to say a 6.5 with some manlicker level bullets wouldn’t also end things faster due to control and rate? Be fun to find out haha. I’d sign up but I’d want a buddy or two.

Yea it’s amazing how they have a guy behind them with a 375 H&H, that's TO FUNNY. You know what else is funny my wife is 5’5” 120 lbs and shoots a 300 WIN MAG, 300 WSM and a 280AI light weight may I add 7.6 lbs with no issues. But in today’s world most women can kick the out of most men.

Dangerous game hunting... well its definitely been commercialized heavily. The gun makers, guides, gun writers / product pushers have orchestrated it to make you think that you need a cannon to hunt in Africa or for Alaskan game.

How many times have we heard, you need a magnum to hunt this or that...

Ive seen a 12yr old drop a whitetail at 150 with a 55gr softpoint to the shoulder. Ive filled a pickup full of deer over the years with a 243 win. 1200 pound cattle that are too ornery to catch, the 30-30 catches just fine. No reason why a 30-30 wouldn't down a cape. The buffalo hunters in the American west used 45-70 to 50-90 and cast lead bullets. Bell used a 6.5x54. The Alaskan natives like 223.

Id rather have a 6.5creed I could run like a surgeons scalpel than a 338 win mag im flinching with.

Any decent hunting bullet that will penetrate 2' into muscle & hide will do in 99% of game if properly applied. Also I don't know any case where I've seen a poorly shot game animal that a larger cartridge would have corrected the problem, except maybe a glancing head shot from a 22lr compared to a fast centerfire.

This is an animal with grit!!! But of course if the hunter would had a 6.5, 6 or 22 CM the lion would have just gave up. Most haven’t shot anything but whitetails talking smack.

How does one get caught up in such stupidity. I guess if your a and can’t take a little recoil than shoot the small stuff. You can only wonder why this country has grown soft, grown men shooting a woman’s and kids cartridges.

A lot of animals have lost their lives to a 270win and 30-06 Springfield with a metal or plastic butt plate no argument there. But that’s when men were real men like Jack O’Conner a dying breed.

I only turn in my wimpy card when I’m hunting animals under 350 lbs. I do own a 28 Nosler and 6.5 RPM I don’t know that I would classify them as wimpy they thump better good. My wimpy cartridges are 222 rem, 223 rem, 243 win, 25 CM, 260 rem and 308 win. I just got comedic when the thread went comedic, it was also Friday night so I was under the influence of a touch of alcohol . All seriousness the biggest cartridge's I have is a 338 RPM, 300 WM and 300 WSM. I harvested my Brown Bear with the 338 RPM 210 TTSX 225 yards dumped him, Wife used 300 WM 200 AB 150 yards Bear ran maybe 50 yards. I’ve been around the block a couple times and I’m pretty aware when something has a hole through both or the it’s just a matter of time . With that said, I carry what I know works for me on a particular hunt. I own more than one cartridge, everyone can carry what works for them on their particular hunt. I’m not a progressive leftist trying to push my ideas on anyone. You’re in control of your own decisions, live and learn hopefully not from the teeth or claws of a big ass predator. It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt or ate .

But neither of us are going on a brown bear hunt with a 6.5 anything. You go right ahead and go that’s your decision. Most jacking there jaws on this thread hasn’t even seen a brown bear much less killed one. And I’m not under the influence of alcohol today as of yet. You seem to be an intelligent person are you taken a 6.5 on a brown bear hunt ?

It’s true, Ive never seen a brown bear in the wild.

If I ever decided to go brown bear hunting, I’d gladly use a 6.5 caliber cartridge. I think that new heavy TMK would work well. As would the 140-grain Partition.

I know I have what most would consider better brown bear medicine - two 9.3x62s - but I would have to feel just as confident in my abilities with those rifles before I considered taking them for dangerous game.

But the odds of me ever going hunting for a bear of any kind are pretty low. I give them all a pass on my farm.

For me, it’s about not declaring it stupid or unethical for someone else to do things differently than I would. People kill them with bows and handguns. I’d rather have my Tikka .223 than either of those options.

I hear you. Logically, yes, I would shoot a brown bear with a 6.5 Creedmoor and I have a 6x45 that I really want to shoot an elk with, but when it's time to head up the mountain, and the what if's start coming to mind (cross-canyon or hard quartering shots), I usually grab my 7 Mag that I shoot very, very well.
