Thinking about buying one of these. Mil reticle green illum. Anyone have feed back on eyebox, dialing, zero retention? With only 9x max I don’t mind SPF. Will these dial out to 800yrds?

I wouldn’t expect significant dialing out of it. I’ve got that scope with a red reticle- great scope that seems to track fine when zeroing, but I think of it as a set it and forget it scope. 2.5-15 is where I’d look for dialing. I wish they’d true the reticle at 6 or 8x instead of 15. I just hold elevation with the 3-9.

If you want to dial out to 800 you would probably need an angled base. On my tikka 223 with sportsmatch t084c rings I can dial 5 mils up and 11.5 mils down. I just dropped mine 6x at 36 inches today and it seemed to do well. I labeled the shot order.

How frequently do you dial it, just curious. I'm thinking it might be ok for just occasionally while hunting?

Only dialed on steel with no issues.
Occasionally 700 and 575.
It was normally a set and forget but I never had any issues when I did dialed.
It tracked as well as I could tell based on my shooting abilities and returned to a 100 zero.

Yeah, its a good scope and I would not hesitate to own another, but 100% agree with above—its a set it and forget it scope, not what you want for shooting at longer range. While it will work, the turrets are very easy to lift and spin and at some point I think you’ll inadvertently spin a turret and lose your zero. Even if you wanted a capped 2fp scope you could occasionally dial, I would get a NF shv 3-10 for that simply because its a much better turret for dialing under that cap. If 800 is on the menu very often I would look at ffp scopes with an exposed turret though. Never seen one but I hear that 3-9 swfa that just came available today is pretty good.
