How about the trigger? My biggest gripe is no aftermarket support, or I would probably order 2-3. I'm either going to have to cut the stock down to fit the wife/kids or find something light somewhere that fits.

The trigger is great out of the box and easy to adjust.

I picked up the XT in 6.5 Creed and couldn't be happier with it. For a $400ish rifle it's tough to beat in my opinion.

Having owned Tikkas (T3/T3x), Mauser (M12) and now the Sauer 100, the Sauer is a mixed bag. It has a better magazine based on being able to top load and hold more rounds. However, the trigger is good/OK but doesn't come close to the Tikka or M12. There is some perceptible creep in the Sauer 100 trigger and mine came with a plastic trigger shoe. Out of the box was 4 lbs. It was turned down to 2.75 lbs. The M12 trigger shoe is metal abd came out of the box at 2 lbs. Load development with the S100 leads me to the opinion that it's not as accurate as the Tikka. Most groups with various loads are ~1 MOA. Tuned loads turn in ~.5-.75 MOA groups. Field stripping the bolt on the S100 is the easy and tooless.

After purchasing it, there is somewhat buyers remorse. It's an OK rifle for the money but if I had to do over, I'd spend the extra on a Tikka for those that asked.

I don’t know quite yet. I ordered a selection of relatively affordable ammo to try in it. It shot the S&B 140-grain FMJ decently. I didn’t try the 140-grain ELDM in it yet. I’m optimistic about the S&B 131-grain SP.

You chop yours down to 18 or 20”? I may have missed it in your post. That wood too

Naturally all of my rifles are deer/elk rifles so would want this to fit in there nicely. Prefer ELDM over everything at this point

I left it at 22”. With the Airlock on it, it will still be ~26”.

Snap, I definitely missed it then. Was thinking 16-20” with a matching 243.

Depending on bullet choice should be decent 500/550 and in guns, unless my calcs are way off.

These were around the $900ish? mark when they came out. Look anywhere and they’re still mostly in the $700-$800 range. EO has quite a few in the $400-$500 range. The for the money $400 price point doesn’t really apply here. These are superior to the Ruger American and Savage Axis category of rifles right out of the box.

Way superior. I have a savage axis and have handled a friend of mines ruger american gen ii. no comparison in action and trigger. I have limited experience with a tikka other than at bass pro. I had planned to get a tikka but for the $399 6.5 cm I just went for it and can't complain other then there are no aftermarket stocks. As the length of pull is kind of long and I like very vertical grips.

Way superior. I have a savage axis and have handled a friend of mines ruger american gen ii. no comparison in action and trigger. I have limited experience with a tikka other than at bass pro. I had planned to get a tikka but for the $399 6.5 cm I just went for it and can't complain other then there are no aftermarket stocks. As the length of pull is kind of long and I like very vertical grips.

I may be able to source some HS precision stocks. Like this comment if you would be interested.

Interesting. I agree somewhat about the mixed bag with the Sauer 100 but not about the trigger. After lightening the trigger of my 6.5 PRC a couple turns with the Allen, it feels like a sub 2# match trigger. It might be closer to 1# than 2# based on my experience with two Tikkas with lightened trigger springs that were supposed to bring the trigger weight down to 2.

Not only is my Sauer trigger lighter(than the modified Tikkas) but it has absolutely no creep and breaks like glass. Probably the best trigger I’ve ever experienced, for sure in a factory gun with no modification.
