How do the triggers compare to tikka
I went for the 6.5 PRC in Classic XT. Planning to cut the stock down to 13”, fill with spray foam, and add a neoprene gel recoil pad. I’ve had good results with this in the past. Scope and mounts TBD…what are my best option for mounts?
I’m a fan of one piece mounts if possible.Form suggested I try the Burris 410600 XTR Base Remington 700 (Black). I haven’t shot it yet, but they seem to fit well.

Just be aware that mounting a scope with a big windage knob really low can be problematic with certain cartridges, they hit the turret and bounce back into the action.Form suggested I try the Burris 410600 XTR Base Remington 700 (Black). I haven’t shot it yet, but they seem to fit well.

There is a simple solution for this in the case of the 3-9 Super Sniper, just rotate the scope 90 degrees anti clockwise.
I heard back from the fine folks at Sauer regarding having my rifle threaded:

Sauer quoted me $375 for the threading job, so I will take it somewhere else reputable.
Interesting bit they put in there about not removing the barrel. Wasn't that a contested issue on here?
Yes, it was a highly contested topic.
Is there any more info on this? Wondering if it has to be sent in to get rebarreled or if a competent gunsmith could do it
Thanks for the clarification. I remember reading about the press fit vs screw on barrels and thought it was settled. Then the email response threw me off. Sounds like I need to order one. It’s been addressed repeatedly. People that have no idea what they are talking about should stop commenting and confusing.
Yes, the Sauer 100 can be rebarreled like any other rifle.
