CRAZY GOOD SAUER 100 SALE! - EUROOPTIC - AS LOW AS $499.99

Jake, would you happen to know if the Low Talley rings will work on a 40mm objective with a 1” tube or do I need to get the Medium? I can’t send DM’s yet and can’t measure to confirm as I just ordered the rifle this morning. If not, I’ll wait for the rifle to arrive.

If you are talking about the integrated rings and bases, ie lightweight, they have a poor reputation for reliability, a better option is the Burris XTB bases mentioned above and a decent set of picatinny rings.
Lows will suit.

Barrel is threaded. Stock is almost as stiff as the Tikka, it will twist more at the forend but it’s not like the Ruger and Remington plastic where it takes very little pressure to make contact with the bottom of the barrel channel and barrel. There is a slight zip on initial opening of the bolt but nothing like the 1st Gen American. I think that will wear in or out should I say? The safety has a long throw forward from bolt lock position and I’m not really fond of the disassembly process. Some mention the LOP being too long but I’m 6’ and that never bothers me. The ball on the bolt handle appears to be a plastic cover.

I will say that it feels at least, well built and it points really well for me, the scope is mounted and feels natural to me. Sight picture is there. I made just over six 1/4 turns on the screw (no disassembly) and the trigger pull is just under 2.5 pounds now. Out of the box it was 3.5.

Just my unbiased opinion, my other rifles are Tikka’s and I just need some time with this one to see if I really like it in comparison. Initial impression, would I buy it again? At $400, for sure. It has a 10 year warranty if that helps.

the zip goes away after a couple rounds, or at least mine did

Mine is coming Thursday...can't confirm what is coming yet. But I've owned 2 others and the quality was better than a Ruger American IMHO. The bottom metal/trigger guard seemed to be metallic.

I figured for $1000 normal cost it would be better but it’s always hard to decipher what stock is cheap feeling through an image

Where is this “cheap” idea coming from? There isn’t a single European or Scandinavian rifle made that is “junk”. They do not have Ruger Americans or savages. The Sauer 100 is Sauer’s answer to the T3x- it is a very good rifle.
