I know folks were critical of how he handled the wolf reintroduction. But I have to be concerned with who the Polis-Reis regime will replace him with. Things could get worse… a whole lot worse.

Is it far-fetched to speculate that the Governor’s office pushed him out so they could replace him with an anti-hunting, anti-agriculture Director to appease the activists in his administration?

@howl

Nah. He had 23 years in Oregon.
Add a couple in Colorado and he's made his 25 in State Govt retirement
I don’t know. Word on the street is acting Director MG (ret) Laura Clellan is hard core animal rights, gun control. Retired as the Colorado National Guard AG. TBD if they keep her on as permanent Director.

Also never held a hunting or fishing license.

It was announced this morning, she's the one......it has gotten worse. Hope the acting director doesn't become permanent. She's also from the same LGBTQ community he is.

I hate to be such a downer. I’ve never hunted Colorado and likely never will, but your guys’ state is crumbling. Between the constant attacks on hunting, restrictive gun laws, and all of the other liberal **** going on, I don’t know how CO can ever recover.

This is coming from a guy in a very liberal state in the East.
It’s crazy to see how quickly it accelerated.

Seems like what Polis will do, especially since he is a lame and very gay duck

Yeah she is a ( Marlon ) appointee I’m sure so that makes sense… I’m guessing we have another cat ban coming or something far more insidious

You are correct. I would say what separates Colorado from your run of the mill liberal-leaning blue state is there is a pronounced, targeted anti-hunting agenda being implemented by the Governor here. It is more than just gun control and standard liberal-progressive policies, they want to completely remake wildlife management by excluding hunters and anglers. And eliminating any consumptive use or harvest along the way. First Gentleman Marlon Reis and his pals from CATS/Prop 127 don’t if even try to hide it, they will state it publicly. He has built an anti-hunting bloc on the CPW Commission and for now a CPW Director who also leans in that direction.

Oh yeah, even with as liberal as Maryland is, we still manage to get some gun rights wins occasionally and hunting has never really been targeted that I’m aware of. Our DNR is also great and is fully behind hunters and fishers.

Another death blow to Colorado sportsman.
Still some RS members (none have responded on this thread yet) from Colorado come on here and say how Colorado is still wonderful and their hunting and ranching opportunities are not compromised. I think this group of RS Coloradans are a bunch of liberal woke democrats and will continue to support the woke Polis regime even if it affects the hunting opportunities in Colorado. They would rather be a woke democrat than a outdoorsman. You can read some of this group’s comments on the thread Colorado Going Going Gone.

Don’t know of any woke or ultra liberal Colorado RS members, there maybe some but I sure haven’t seen or heard from them. Our state is gorgeous, we have incredible animals and landscapes, yet we are in a life and death battle with the insane overlords some elected, some not who are constantly trying to threaten our “way of life” and our chosen lifestyle, heck you would think the alphabet mafia could see that those with different lifestyles should be respected and left alone not demonized and hounded at every turn… but we will fight, polis and his buddy Marlon are on the clock, yes we will get another liberal but there is a chance they will not be deranged when it comes to hunting and fishing and ranching in the state

God bless those living in CO and keep up the good fight for a better tomorrow.

Where are people seeing her anti gun / anti hunting positions? I can’t find any info on her outside her military service. Which raises the question, how she is remotely qualified for this position..
