I work for Spartan Precision Equipment, and wanted to tell you about a new accessory for tripods. It's called the CP Brace.

This attaches onto our Hercules tripod with some rubber clamps, and it allows you to shoot from the tripod, but with a much lower center of gravity. Think of it as hanging a weight (rifle) under a triangulated support versus balancing on top of it. While sitting, this also places you in a good position to brace your buttstock, arm, or knee, against the back leg of the tripod.

The brace is designed to be used with our Disc-Lok attachment, so you would need to purchase an adapter that works with whatever system you're rifle has. It creates a really strong hold, which is nice because this whole tripod and brace system will soak up a lot of recoil. They designed this to be a beefy product for tactical/long range use, and if it's successful, perhaps they'll make an ultralight version for backcountry hunters.

It can be used with tripods from some other brands too, as long as the leg diameter fits within these parameters. To be honest, this is a brand new product and I haven't tested it on every tripod out there, so email Spartan if you're worried about compatibility.
Minimum Leg Diameter 2.3cm
Maximum Leg Diameter 4.6cm

Let me know what you think!
