Coyotes come in many different color phases from almost blond, red heads to jet black and everywhere in between.
Your second photo is that of a gray or red fox, black color phase. Saturday evening I had the pleasure of seeing an albino or leucistic red fox standing about 15 yards from my vehicle in north central Idaho. Though the kit fox is found in southern Idaho, the red fox is the only other species of fox present in the state. This is the first time that I had ever sighted either the genetic disorder of albinism or the leucistic coloration in a fox outside of a zoo....It's something I don't think I'll ever see again...Coyotes come in many different color phases from almost blond, red heads to jet black and everywhere in between.
