Cow elk to bull moose euro mount advice

I am trying to attach the shoulder blades of cow elk to the skull as like a moose thing for fun. Any recommendations of how I should do it? I’m assuming I need to do it right the first time so any advice would be appreciated.

You'll need a pin of some type to run from the blade into the skull to support the wieght. After that fill the gap and shape the "pedestal" with a moldable epoxy, that will hold it all together.

R.unlcky is correct.

Drill all the way up through the bottom of the skull and into each blade in a frontal "X" pattern, then screw it. Use water weld epoxy putty to trim the bases into pedicles. Paint to match, or just rattle can the whole thing.

I don't think you can really mess this up. Lol.

But done well would make a conversation piece

Not the same but they sell plastic skulls w pedicles you screw antlers into. Maybe try one of those?

Multiple times I’ve done something similar to what realunlucky said. For antlered animals, I’ve drilled into the pedicle and antler and bondo (or something similar) in a threaded rod for extra stability, then use putty epoxy to fill in the rest. I use clamps and strips of wood to hold everything in place during the curing process. In your case since it a cow, I’d thread a washer and nut onto the rod inside of the skull. Here’s a few caribou and elk for an example. I’ve never bothered with painting them but certainly could. Good luck this should be interesting
