Went back about ten pages and couldn't find an active thread, so...

I know many of you guys have had this sh t, after avoiding the virus for almost 2.5 years I finally popped positive this week.
Kicked my ass, seriously weak, phlegm-city.....but have avoided respiratory issues so far. Lots of sweat and some fatigue, no taste or smell.

Any other newbs? How's everyone else doing?

Had it twice, once in early 2020, again in summer of 2021. Drink lots of fluids and take Vitamin D supplements. Definitely had a hard reset on my cardio that took a month or two to resolve. No long term effects that I’ve noticed.

Had it in Nov 2020 and again in March 2022. Both times my only symptoms were loss of taste and smell as well as a light cough for a week or two afterwards.

Fortunate it's been mild for me. My 32 year old cousin (who is stubborn and didn't want to see a doctor at first) almost died from it and spent 8 days in the hospital. . . But the hospital had no ventilator and they had no beds nearby with one so he had to ride it out. He's still fighting to get his respiratory system back up to par and it's been about 6 months for him.

Make sure you get to a doc if it starts to get bad!

Around the time omicron peaked. Heavy deep cough for about 5 days enough to make back and abdominal muscles sore, sort of feverish, and some fatigue. Cough lingered for another 2 weeks and then real weak for another.

A coworker recently tested and stayed home for 5 days, said it was like a bout with allergies for a few days so you never know.

My whole household came down with it in February except for my youngest kid. My two other kids were so so and my wife and I were down and out for about a day or so apiece. Everyone seemed to bounce back just fine after a few days. My sense of smell is still a little off but other than that life is great.

Had it twice and was no more than a mild cold for me
I purposely kept myself busy and continued with my supplements as I usually do
No lingering effects here

My wife and I had it 1x alternating, 2 kids had it twice.

Wife had it the worst, kids weren't too sick. Wife and I both feel we had several weeks or longer of fatigue and the "brain fog" this is a very weird bug..

Watch your breathing and hope recovery goes well Broomd!

Thanks fellas, appreciate the input.
We've been on a steady zinc, D3, C, etc. protocol since mid '20. Diet, exercise, try to stay on all of it.
No doubt it's helped.

Been faithful about the flu shot over the last ten years, but haven't gotten one in several years now with all the BS going on.
As a result, I was running outside with the griff in an early April blizzard and ended up with pita flu for several weeks.
When this 'rona hit I was baffled how I got sick again so quickly. Made sense when I pulled the positive for the Covid virus.

Ya know, his struggles may continue but gotta wonder if that lack of vent may have actually saved your cousin's life in the long run.
Many folks get on one and can never get off.

Had it mid January. Laid up bad for two weeks and then had some breathing issues when breathing deep. Never was hospitalized or went to dr. The after effects are still with me: loss of strength, fatigue, muscle/joint aches. My workouts should be back to where I was before covid by mid July....started working on March 1 after 6 weeks laid up, 65 yoa.

When I started up my aerobic workouts after my hr was up 20 bpm. Now it is down almost to where it was but I put on a few #'s so it will probably stay up a little until I trim up.

Think I had it in late Jan. A bit of head congestion for 2 days. Lost taste and smell for 3 days and was fatigued for 2 days. That was it. Never got tested since they wouldn't do anything for me anyway!

Finally got it a month ago. Tested positive.
Typical flu like symptoms with a MAJOR sore throat.

My tinnitus is worse now

Had it in January 2022, sick about a week.

Still have low cardio just can’t get back too where I was. Exercise I have done routinely now I can‘t catch my breath, just sucking air. We’ll see but at this point don’t expect to get better.

Had the original. Had Delta. Had omicron... Delta was terrible. Sickest I have ever been. Get your a$$ out of bed even when you don't feel like it. Take your vitamins. Get sunshine. Eat as good as you can. You will be fine. I'm almost 50 and not in great shape. It sucks but it's survivable.

On day 5 right now, although it seems to be getting better. Thankfully, I think my case has been relatively mild. I've had some mild aches, fever, fatigue, and I did get a bad sore throat that I thought was strep. I can feel it in my chest but it's not too bad. I've also lost most of my smell and taste. I'm feeling noticeably better today so I'm hoping the worst is over.

Im pretty sure I had it way back in spring 2020. I had a cold then it felt like I got punched in the sternum with chest pain and shortness of breath for a month. I ate a ton of garlic, like about 3 fresh crushed cloves morning and night and that helped a lot. They didnt have testing back then so I cant say 100%. It took a while to get back to normal for sure but eventually got all my strength back.

About a year later in Spring 2021 I got what I thought was the flu but then couldnt smell a Costco bag of coffee and had a fever. A few days later I got tested at Walgreens and tested positive. I had a residual cough for a few weeks as well.

I have a 5 year old and 2 year old daughters and they both got a mild fever for about 5 hours then were fine. It was actually hard because my wife and I were still pretty sick and they were running around normal.

The biggest thing that helped me was elecampane tincture. Take a dropperful in a small glass of water. It tastes extremely strong and medicinal. After about 5 min you will start coughing pretty hard and will hack up every bit of phlegm in your chest and throat. I remember almost throwing up a few times from hacking crap up so hard. You will feel 100% better afterward though and it keeps the crap from building up in your lungs.

It got me in Sept of last year. At first it just felt like allergies on Thursday but by Saturday I was sure I had Bronchitis. It felt like a lot of junk in my lungs but breathing was fine. I got tested that day and they gave me a handful of drugs. The steroid was probably the best thing. After that I just felt run down for the rest of the week. I actually walked our 4 mile loop 3 times that week. I was feeling alright until Saturday. That's when the headache hit. By far the worst headache I've ever had! I laid in bed all day nauseous from the pain. Around 10pm I drove myself to the ER just for some pain relief. They gave me fluids and 2 pain meds and sent me home. I was fine after that. Never lost taste or smell and never had shortness of breath. Ironically, I think I got in while flying.

We had it twice, at least.
Never vacc'd.
Heard a load of crap about not getting the vacc from my BIL and his wife for 2 years.
BIL called my wife yesterday. He and his wife both have the Covid.

My mom tested positive for COVID this week and she just turned 100 years old.
Fortunately she was fully vaccinated and boosted.
Spent 1 day in the hospital on an IV for dehydration and a bad cough.
She is steadily improving. Toughest person I know.
She always says getting old ain't for sissies!
