Could we get Boyd’s to make a Rokstok?

I just got a Boyd’s pro varmint stock that I’m going to modify into a rokstock. Once I get going on it I’ll post. I think it can be cut in the correct places and reglued together to get real close. Plus some shaping with a file.

This is exactly what I had been thinking for an option. I used the pro varmint on rifles a few years ago and it’s not a bad platform.

I can see cutting the stock square and then gluing on some maple to then shape to final form.

Between Boyd’s, Stocky’s, Richard’s Microfit, and probably another company or two that I’m missing, someone would do it. I’d be happy to do some legwork and talk to companies about it under someone’s company name. PM if you’re interested.

If there is no plan for a laminate Rokstock with Boyd’s or someone else, let’s connect by PM in a couple weeks. I have some design ideas that work off the newer type design the Rokstock was build on.

I want to explore maybe how to make it a little more configurable in the grip, LOP, and comb/toe angle. Certainly based off the pro varmint would make it easier.

There are lots of stock makers with a pantograph, send them a pattern ( the correct name for a shaped unit) and they will pump out hundreds in whatever material you want.
But don’t be a dickhead and send them someone elses design, put your own stamp on it.

If one is going to be produced as a production model by one of the companies mentioned in the RS/Lite pattern, UM should be part of it and receive acknowledgement and $.

If someone is buying to shape/finish one on their own, that is different. Richards gives the "EXTRA WOOD" option: "We can leave extra wood in any exterior area of the stock for a higher comb, finger groves, etc." It seems like this would be the route to go, specifying the above bore comb to butt height, then shaping the negative comb from that. That said, it's probably been 2 decades ago, but an order I made through Richards was a massive headache and the inlet product I received was truly terrible. Perhaps they've improved...I haven't ordered from them since...but I can't forget that experience.

Boyd's seems to be on top of things and every stock I've ordered from them has been close enough on the inlet that it only needed bedding.
