Costo Eddie Bauer Sun Hoodie

How is the weight and material thickness on these?
Bought an xl and large they weigh about 8-10oz depending on the size. Material is rated at 50 spf which is usually thicker but these are not bad, more of a tighter weave. Wore it for ten miles mostly sunny around 85°, did its job well. No odor treatment so I wouldn’t wear it daily next to skin.

Thanks for the update. Did you feel hotter than if you were in a Tshirt? Or was it comfortable temp wise?

Tough to say. The fabric reminds me of “cooling material” used for cooling towels as it holds moisture enough to create evaporation. I’m in Colorado and our summer sun is intense so any exposed skin gets uncomfortable fast. I have some light synthetic tshirts and an Outdoor Research Echo sun hoodie that breathe better but don’t have the sun coverage or spf rating. I would where this EB one in any hot dry climate while being active or not but in a humid environment probably just for low activity. I found it more comfortable than the BlackDiamond Alpenglow pro or the easy to find Columbia options as they are to thick.

Thats exactly the info I was looking for. I'm in the southeast so hot and humid is what I'm contending with. Will check out the Echo. Seems like some good reviews on that from other members here. Thanks again.

I agree it works and is pretty cool. I’d say not as cool as the Patagonia Capilene(note confirming this is correct name) which is the coolest I’ve found. I have fair skin and wear long sleeve almost always no matter what the weather. The Capilene is my go to, but for $12 these are pretty close.

5'10" 180 size 32 waist. Half athletic build, half soft 40-yr old. Bought 2 larges because most of my current sun shirts fit pretty normal and I thought I wanted more...air flow? The arms and chest feel great, if not a hair loose. Pretty baggy around the midsection. I went back for 2 mediums because I really like the material. I'll use the larges when I mow, do yard/outside work...maybe range days. I'll be wearing the mediums when I'm wearing a pack or jogging though.
I’m about 20lbs heavier, same height. I originally bought large, will work great as just a shirt when it’s hot. Went back and grabbed some mediums to use as more of a base layer. I like the hood on the medium much more.

I felt them in store today. They remind me of my Mountain Hardware Crater Lake. It is somewhat of a soft material. I like the Capilene type material that isn't as absorbent, but is tough and dries real fast. I would have bought one if they had it in my size.

I'm 6'4 275 but carry my weight in my thighs and chest. Normally a 2x t-shirt but the XL fits me just fine. Not tight but not baggy either.

Put them side by side and the Eddie Bauer (216g size M) is quite a bit thicker than the MH crater lake (156g) Closer in thickness to kuiu gila but not as slick feeling. Outdoor Vitals Altitude is still my favorite for hot weather

Hows the fit on these?Kuiu baselayers I wear med. T-shirts large thanks
I was at the store yesterday tried the Mediun size and the fit was great. I have a kuiu Tiburon shirt in medium size and it feels a little more baggy. The Eddie Bauer is more fitted which I like better. I am 5’6, 156 lbs and the medium is perfect for me. Costco already has put the asterisk on these which means they will go on clearance very soon. In the next couple weeks they will most likely drop on price.

I bought two xxl as there were no xl’s at two different stores. The asterisk on their price tag means they’re discontinued, manager told me they didn’t think they’d come down in price again until there were only a few left. Anyone in the metro Denver area know of any xl’s to try on?
