Costco Merino Sweater $12

Our Costco has the 100% Merino Banana Republic sweaters for $12. Ours had a good selection of sizes left. I picked up a couple for a cheap base or mid layer.

These are awesome. I wore them all season for all my hunts. 10 days straight wearing one as a base layer and didn’t stink or get baggy on me. I like it more than my Kuiu merino.

How’s the fit? Order normal size?

My normal size fit well. Snug in the arms and a little in the chest, looser in the belly.

These are sweaters not base layers so they have a little looser fit.

5'10", 180lbs. Plenty of length, everything else fits like a standard medium.

I take it you don’t find them itchy? Do you experience itchiness with many other merino brands?

Only brand I’ve worn that I was comfortable in is Sitka, but that’s largely because I gave up trying merino 20 years ago - everything I ever bought was uncomfortable.

I’m not sure if manufacturing has gotten better, or I’m just weirdly sensitive to it, or both.

I did try Black Ovis merino base layers a few years ago, and they were itchy.

Have you tried First Lite's merino? IMO thats by far the best out there. I too get itchy with some merino, didnt like the Black Ovis nor Sitka's. But FL merino is legit. Just my $0.02

@Jack321 not yet, but I’ve read other folks say the same. My clothing kit is fairly dialed in, but I am looking to snag some merino to swap out an item or two. Just waiting for a good sale - that’s how I got the Sikta hoody.
