All this talk of the great deals from Eurooptic on tikkas got me thinking. Then add in the possibility a 6mm Creed might be available - key word "might" - in the future....

I have to ask : How much are you actually saving ? Once you add in shipping and the fee your local FFL will charge to take it in ?

I get taxes and form fees are the same no matter what....

Just want to know if the "juice is worth the squeeze"....This would apply to any rifle as well...

My search turned up nothing...

Thanks

Huh? The online price of firearms is *usually better even after considering transfer fees. Find a good ffl close by, use him often and his rates usually get cheaper.

I will have to find out what a local FFL will charge to take it in. I just moved to a new area, so I won't be getting a "good guy" discount for sure. I also won't be buying guns very often.

I'll have to find a store or two to ask.

Most FFLs charge $25-50 to do the transfer. This is the case across the last 5 states that I have lived in. There are some places where that fee is much higher, but most of them are in states that I won't live in. ;)

There are also some old holdouts that don't charge anything because they operate under the model of "I want to get people into the store to buy other things".

As far as how much is saved, I purchased a rifle from EuroOptic recently. When all was said and done, it ended up being about $100 cheaper than I could have bought it locally.

My FFL does free transfers if you're a member of the the state gun rights group. $50 a year to an organization that actually does a lot for our state and unlimited free transfers. Win win.

I like Euro Optics a lot, I have bought a ton of stuff from them. I would do it again. I have also bought from Buds Guns. I used to join their club.

Really depends on the transfer fee. When I lived in VA, my local cabelas was the cheapest at $50. Other FFLs wanted up to $100.

In MT, it’s usually $25. My last rifle was a Seekins Element which I snagged for a good $250 or less than Scheels (even with transfer fee included).

After looking around it looks like "it depends" which is normal.

Just an example: Euro optic tikka T3x 308, blued, lite....$629

Add $50 shipping, $50 FFL fee....$729......I can pick it up locally for $759.....is $30 worth it? Not Really

Euro optic Tikka roughtech superlite ember....$999.99.....add in the other costs $1100....locally around $1250...save $150....yes absolutely...

Just what I'm seeing...

More of an issue of getting exactly what you want. What's another hour or two of wages worth if you don't get what you want?

Just an FYI, the last one I bought from EuroOptic was $13.95 for shipping.
