I shot the RL26 load of 66.4 grains at 200 yards and 425 yards, not bad but I think it will do better with retumbo.

200 yards 5 shots

425 yards 4 shots

I will test Retumbo at 200 and further out next time out.

Did some retumbo testing today for temp stability
70.2 gr load
215 primer
175 EH at .020
Nosler brass

Frozen rounds averaged 3023 fps
Hot rounds averaged 2993 fps

I think this is too fast from a 24" barrel so I backed down and shot these, I will say it is not easy shooting a rifle this light for extreme accuracy. Every heartbeat can be seen in the scope. Not to mention it has been between -5 and 10 degrees while testing so most rounds are shot with a glove since I can't feel my fingers after about 5 minutes :D

These are 68.4, 68.8 and 69.2 Retumbo with 1X fired Nosler Brass, 215 Primers and 180 vld at .010 jump
68.4 was 2908 fps, 68.8 was 2927 fps and 69.2 was 2939 fps

I'm still not satisfied but just about any of the powders and bullets I have tried would be good enough to kill stuff inside 600 yards

Next up will be 175 EH with H1000, 215 primers
168 classic hunters with H1000 and CCI250 primers

And that's the trade off with lightweight Rifles, they are not as steady no matter how good you are. Ryan Avery shot my CA Titanium this year and couldn't believe how much harder it was to hold steady. Everything is a trade-off in life.
Keep it coming, love this testing you're doing at subzero while I watch from a 72degree office

This morning 14 degrees, snow, sleet and freezing rain with a left to right wind from 5-10 mph, overall a gorgeous day.

After the retumbo loads I cleaned the barrel as I usually do when switching powders.

Fired 4 shots to foul the barrel then one each over the magnetospeed so a total of 9 foulers.

I waited 3 minutes between all shots from when I mounted the MS to the end...it took a while. I also kept the ammo in the truck so it wouldn't get too cold and skew my results from beginning to end.

This is the first 5 rounds with the MS attached and 1 round just to check zero after the first 4 foulers. After the MS I moved the scope up 1 moa and right .5 moa before starting with the 168 Classic Hunter loads.

I am starting to think this rifle needs about 15 foulers before settling in, 4 foulers then 5 over the MS then shot 1 on each target
(total of 15 shots) before it leveled out.

MS target, CC was the first shot without the MS attached.

Then this 168 CH at .010 jump, CCI 250, 1X fired Nosler brass H1000
These were shot round robin from lowest charge to highest
168%20CH%20with%20H1000%20and%20CCI%20250_zpsxpvi9fgg.jpg

Then this 175 EH at .030 jump, Fed 215, 3X fired Nosler brass, H1000
I moved the scope .75 down and .75 left before these
Round robin here also from low to high
175%20EH%20with%20H1000%20and%20215_zpsapr4wpjh.jpg

I loaded up 5 each with 69.3 H1000, 215 primer, 1X nosler brass, and 175 EH at .010, .020 and .030 to shoot at 425 yards next time out if it's not too windy. Not sure of the speed but should be about 2950-2980 fps.

I typically start with seating depth test at a low powder charge at 100 yards, then do load testing at the best seating depth at 100.

Then I zero elevation at 200 and fine tune at 425, I like to set my windage at 425 to account for spin drift, this keeps me a little left at 200 and a little right at 600. If I hunt further than 700 yards I will set my windage at 600 yards so I am good out to 1000 with less than 1/2 moa of spin drift at 1000.

Only reason for 425 is, my range only has backer board at 100, 200 and 425 so when I want the results on paper rather than steel I prefer 425. no other reason for that particular yardage.

Cool. Thanks for the info!! Farthest I have shot mine thus far is 350...and that was at the second elk I've killed with my backcountry. I want to start shooting at longer distances and will be doing so in the off season. I also plan to take 200 rounds prarie dog hunting to fire form more brass this spring!! ;)

I would say that is pretty close, when I come back to 200 after zeroing at 425 or 600 it is 1/4 to 1/2 moa left at 200.

Nice rifle for sure!

Has anyone shot their M92 without the brake?

I don't want a break, and would go 6,5/.284 , 6,5-06AI or .280AI.

The rifle shouldn't be too bad to shoot without a break?
