I also carry a 19 for EDC. I've seen what they do to two legged animals so you can't convince me there to small. I carry a 29 in the woods.

What this article fails to consider is the 9 mm inability to compensate for a really small penis.

I might have to take you up on that sometime this spring. If nothing else it's never a bad day to go shooting. I do like the way my para ordnance shoots, I just don't love the way that it carries because of its weight.

If you like Glocks you gotta join the GSSF. Upgraded both to Gen4 now and they work like a champ. For deep concealment I like the M&P Shield in 9mm. My hunting buddy and I both run G20s in the woods up here in AK. No need for the GSSF if you are Mil/LE or retired Mil. Glock's blue label pricing already includes you with proper ID.

Its hard to beat a Glock for rugged reliable performance.. First upgrade though has gotta be some metal sights. Those stock plastic ones leave a lot to be desired. Wore the front one off my G20 just doing dry fire / draw drills....

We all hope to never face a day like that, that's for sure. Don't get me wrong I carried a 9mm for a few years, an just picked up An h&k VP9 before the Cali loophole closed. And when using +p ammo it's a top tier defense round. Just personal preference is really why it comes down to, with the proper load they can all do the job.

That's an interesting read and it's even recent. I remember not to long ago reading either an FBI or some other alphabet sectors findings that stated somewhat of the opposite. It had actual data and rankings, I will try and find it. The rankings were .45, 9mm +p rounds, 40 s&w then normal 9mm. If I remember correctly. Makes you wonder why they went to the 40 in the first place.

I carry one here in Az only for the 2 legged creatures will out bowhunting. Not a whole lot of animals I have to be worried about. I carried my Glock 23 forever, but this year I bought a Glock 42 in .380 and love that little thing. I forget I have it clipped on my Kifaru. It is not a powerful round, but will certainly get the job done for it's intended purpose.

I started with a Taurus Titanium Tracker in 41 mag, moved to a G20 and now have a G29. I have used the 29 now for 5 years and love it. I shot a black bear with it at about 5 feet in the chest. The blackie didn't like it.... I will say the 20 is much easier to shoot accurately than the 29.

Wow Ryan, tell us more on why you had to shoot a black bear in the chest

Just an update, I am still undecided. I talked to a few others that have formal training and they said I'd be better off keeping what I have if I am comfortable shooting it rather than learning a new weapon that I may not be as comfortable with. I do like the way my current gun shoots, my only complaint is the weight. If I get a chance to shoot a glock 10mm and a kimber 10mm maybe it'll sell me.

I got a Glock 20 this time last year and enjoy carrying it on my backpack waistbelt as well as shooting it at the range. I went with the SF version and really like how it fits in my hand. Even climbed the Wetterhorn in Colorado just to get adjusted to it on my waistbelt and it never got in the way while climbing/scrambling. Packs a punch but is very comfortable in my opinion. Maybe if i ever decide to get a C&C then Ill look at getting a 29. Reloading for them is definitely recommended for the wide range of component availability. Most factory loaded cartridges are the $30+ defense rounds which are great for carry but are expensive to practice with. Hope this helps

That said I had a to good to pass up deal on a 357 sig a few months ago and I've been playing with some hand loads for it. I think it's a commonly overlooked and underrated caliber choice. A 9 sized and weighed mini with 10 rounds of 147 grainers at pushing 357 mag speeds is my new backpacking and hunting gun.

Look at the sig sauer sp2022 in 9mm. It's gonna be the next gun I pick up. I like the ergo and it will be a nice change to go from striker fired to a DA/SA. Although some guys don't like it.
