I started a thread a couple months ago wondering how to get a better bottom cam suspension for my bow on the exo mtn 5500 and several folks mentioned the Kifaru Grab It. Was wondering if anyone could help a rookie understand how to attach it so that it is functional? I have looked at it several times and just done see how they can co-exist? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you, Danny

You need a couple g-hooks to attach it to the bottom and you also need a couple extra SR buckles (forget if you need male or female) from exo to attach it to the upper sides. If you e-mail them they will send you a couple buckles for real cheap. You maybe able to take them off somewhere else on the pack for now but not sure..

Send me a pm with your email and I will send some pics of how I modified one to work on a MR dragon slayer. I also modded up some g-hooks with a slot that might work perfect too with less work. I can send pics of both.

Sorry, I've just been busy as hell. I have tonight off though. I'll take pics as soon as I get home from work.

SHTF walked me through everything I needed and it all fits perfect, once you have the g-hooks and exo buckles it installs in about 2 minutes tops

So you need 2 g-hooks and 2 female ITW buckles from Exo. I get my g-hooks from milspec monkey, you can either use the normal or the wave. For the Exo buckles you will have to e-mail Steve or Lenny @ Exo. I recommend getting a couple extra male and female buckles while you're at it in case you add more stuff in the future. They won't charge you much and they'll get them shipped out pretty fast.

If you have any other questions let me know...

Danny: please don't take offense. I'm an old guy who after 45 yrs of recurves and longbows bought my first compound at 62 yr of age. I also own an Exo.
Why do you need a grab it to attach your bow? Mine seems secure with the compression straps but I've never attached a bow to a pack. I'm just trying to learn.

It might not be "necessary" but I feel better having the grab it cover the lower part of my bow to protect it from any incidental contact with anything. Could be a branch, bush, shrub, rock, etc... Just makes me feel the bottom cam and strings have a little extra protection from things around me. Hope that makes sense.

I just like it for extra security. I used to run an Eberlestock butt bucket and loved it. I also like the dual use of the grab-it to either throw my puffy in or a skull if I get the job done

No offense at all. I carried it out this weekend from a backpack hunt and it did great. I simply, like above, like the additional security as well as the east of packing other stuff (elk decoy) when not in use. I really like the exo pack, but once full the "stretch" panel really has little to no use but for long flat pieces such as maps, etc. The grab it would help expand this. thanks a ton for all the information given, really appreciated.

Thank you!!!!!!

I was looking at their load panel and wondered if they would work on my duplex I guess the question go answered. they are considerably less money than the Kifaru load panel. For as often as I would use it I think the exo panel would work fine Thanks
