If you think the US postal service sucks don't ever move to Canada. I ship stuff in your system to a shipping service at the Border and generally get stuff fairly prompt. I have waited 10 plus days for an order from Calgary which is in my province and about 300 km. away.

Don’t even get me started on usps. I track packages just to see them sit somewhere for 2 weeks.

It’s bullshit, we pays usps for a service and they just sort of provide the service when it’s convenient for them.

I’ve had issues with the same place. Shipped something I sold off here and it bounced between Roanoke , Va and Greensboro, Nc for a couple of days. Then somehow disappeared for a couple of days? Refunded the guys money. Showed up over a month later. Guy sent funds back to me.
Just had another instance were my item sat in Roanoke for a week. I opened up a complaint for not receiving product and it showed up the very next day? The box look like it had gotten soaked and the shirts smelt like pinesol. Shirts I had bought off a member here.

If I walk into the Post Offce in Cody, and send a letter to someone in Cody, the letter goes to Casper first. Then back to Cody.

If I mail a small package to a friend in Cody, as in a Box, it goes to Denver before it gets there. It leaves the town I mailed it from. Travels 490 miles south, crosses state lines, to be put in a bin, and sent the 500 miles back north to the very posted office I stood in when I shippped it, to be delivered.

The government sucks.

Sorry about your situation. Hope it works out. Since we’re sharing USPS horror stories…..Growing up back East, *Real* maple syrup is an item that is rather lacking here in the West. My Aunt and Uncle run a small operation tapping a few thousand trees annually. I ha gotten a few gallon here and there and offered it to some friends out here who also became syrup snobs pretty fast. We got together and planned to have my Aunt ship out several gallon of Maple Syrup from PA to WY. All told, probably between 150 and 200 bucks between 1 or 2 packages. Only one showed up, and it was the smaller of the two.

I sent a barreled Tikka action off to Kampfeld. After the initial scan into their system, tracking was radio silent for 17 days before it came up as delivered one day. Terrible

One November I sent a box to a friend in Maun, Botswana. It never arrived.

The following March (after I moved from Boise to Seattle), I got a notice of a package at the post office. I show up and what do I see? My box I sent to Botswana. It made it to Africa, bounced around a bit and came all the way back to Boise then was forwarded to Seattle.

Never put anything past the USPS.

No. It’s one of the few services planned in the Constitution. For a variety of political reasons, various people have mandated that it be inefficient and trending towards ineffective. It doesn’t have to suck. Our government is sabotaging it.

The biggest argument against getting rid of the USPS is "who is gonna serve the poor communities in Alaska or rural Montana?!!"

And then you hear what the rural Montanans tell you about them and it is never good.

OK it's ineffective and wastes money for whatever reason you want to come up with. 109 Billion in net losses since '07.
Shut it down, you could fix a lot other things with 100 Billion dollars.

I've had great luck with usps compared to fedex. If I want something not delivered to my place....I choose fedex.

I ordered a book a few months back that shipped from Indiana to Missouri. It made 17 stops and twice went through the main sorting facility that’s 10 minutes from my house before it made it to my house after around a month.

A few months later I ordered some mower blades. Box showed up with no blades. Called USPS and they said they must have fell out during sorting or transit but they are required to deliver the box. Makes it hard to return a product when it never shows up to the house lol.

Anyway, USPS sucks. I’ll go out of my way to avoid them.
