Any suggestions on a good set of computer speakers? Want them for listening to music too loudly mainly. I play guitar and often practice along with the song. Speakers more geared towards rock, not ghetto blasters.

I've had a set of Klipsch speakers that have mostly served me well for about 13 years. The last couple years the wiring on them has been failing. I finally managed to rip the plug fully off. Wish they had replacement wiring.

Might not be the best forum for this question, but sometimes y'all surprise me!

Thanks!

Ghetto blasters? Ha. Quality sound is quality sound. Get over yourself.

In all seriousness, get a Sonos 1. You won’t regret it.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind a good Ghetto Blaster...

Main point of my statement was my idea of a good speaker isn't something that has as much bass as possible....

not sure of your budget, but Sonos probably makes the best speaker on the market these days, for residential use. The sound quality is great, but the software behind them is what sets them apart.

Everything gets controlled through the app, including some equalizers settings and bass boost. Worth looking into.

So looking at them, I wouldn't think they would compete with a set of two speakers and a subwoofer.

Something like this...

Doesn't having multiple speakers give you a "fuller" sound throughout the room?

Also don't know if it will compete with my Mesa Boogie 100 watt head with two 2x12 speakers in the cabinet....

Oh hell yes…I had a boogie 50 cal+ back in the 90s…that was the loudest 50w amp I’ve ever played. My ears still ringing…

Yes, to a degree. Without having heard the systems you linked to, it’s tough for me to make a good comparison. For your use case, and most people looking to do a single room sound system, a 2.1 would work, but I would argue that the sound quality on the Sonos is likely better at higher volumes. (Like I said I haven’t heard the models you posted, so my thoughts are anecdotal at best)

I am pretty impressed by the bass output (which is controllable via the app) with the Sonos One, but you’re not going to get that stereo sound that you might be looking for, unless you get two. If it’s in your budget, 2 Sonos Ones will out perform most anything in the market at that price range. All of this is my opinion, of course.

If you can get to a Best Buy (or similar), try to demo a few setups so that you can pick what your ears like. Sound quality subjective.

Sorry for the long post. Hope this helps.

I need to watch myself.... It way too easy to crank things up. It truly sounds better!...and you can feel it better too as well haha.

Haven't been playing nearly as much recently, but my ears have definitely done their fair share of ringing.

Nice haha. My 10'x10' practice room doesn't need a 4x12 haha. (nor does essentially every place I play)
