I’m already a member of my state traditional organization but I’m looking to join either PBS or Compton. Which organization do you prefer? Also, which one does more for TRADITIONAL bowhunting?

I understand the question but at the same time I have always viewed them as siblings organizations on the same team. Cheap enough to be a member of both and you should be a member of both.

I’m more active with pbs but thats only because most of my Bowhunting friends are from the pbs. All the leaders of Comptons and PBS would tell you that they are members of each others organizations and advise you to do the same

The price of the membership would be worth the magazines that they each print alone.

I belong to both, wouldn’t say I’m “super active with either” I enjoy the magazines and agree with what J is saying

I'll echo the others sentiment. Both are good organizations.

With that said, I sit on the board for Comptons and truly believe in the mission of our organization. The amount of time and money we put into getting youth involved alone is worth the effort. There will be no Traditional Archery if we can't get young folks interested.

I would say, join both for a year. See which is a better fit for what you believe an organization should be doing with your money. Can't go wrong with either.

Both are good organizations, though different. As stated above join both and decide if one fits you better than the other, or if you want to support both.

I have belonged to the PBS for close to 30 years.

I am friends and hunt with a lot of Comptons members (they are all PBS Members), many of their board members and their current and next president are personal friends. However, I am an on and off member of Comptons.

I belong to both. I was a field writer for PBS for a couple years before they got rid of doing that in the magazines.
I like PBS in the way that it’s not just Traditional or just Compound. It’s just bowhunting regardless. Compton is all Traditional which is cool but I’m not into one is better than the other. I’d rather see the divide stop and people just use what they wish as long as it’s a legal form of hunting. Without traditional, compounds wouldn’t exist and without the evolution of compounds, bowhunting would have most likely died out years ago.
I prefer stick bows but I totally understand why you’d prefer a compound over a stick for most people.
That being said it’s nice to have an organization that promotes the traditional values of bowhunting.
Both are outstanding and both are good to belong to.
