Complete beginner

I've seen a lot of the zeiss conquest binos for sale on here. I might go that route. Thank you.
There's some thought provoking reading in this bino thread, might be worth a quick read. Take it FWIW.

For elk hunting, take a look at the Sig Zulu 6 binoculars. Image stabilizing and lightweight. The glass is not in the same league as Swaros or Lecias, but pretty decent. Available in 8-10-12 -16 or 20X. For me the 12’s are perfect. Shop around to find them under $1,000.00.
The Image Stabilization is incredible.

When your head starts spinning, don't forget one thing. As recently as 50 years ago, optics were so bulky and low quality compared to today's options that many people hunted without them, and the muzzleloader crowd regularly has success with iron sights because scopes aren't allowed here in CO. Literally anything you buy is better than that so don't get stuck in analysis-paralysis with your first purchase. IMO it's almost better to start cheap and learn your hunting style, then decide where to put your money.
