Columbia omnitherm vs Merino wool

Going duck hunting next week … subzero temps.
Always relied on Merino wool for base layer but considering trying some of these.

Will be sitting in a boat from about 5am to 3 pm each day

base layer wool, then down outer layers, hat and a hooded jacket. Feet and hands biggest concerns in sub zero.
