Colorado Unit 38 Moose Reissue

Hello,

I’m the first guy to ignore or roll my eyes at “share info” threads for general or low point deer and elk tags, but CPW just emailed me and offered me a reissued moose tag in unit 38 not far from my house in Morrison. I’ve provided members with sheep information previously and am hoping karma comes back my way here. This isn’t blowing a unit up, it’s a once in a lifetime kind of deal…

I’ll be out scouting very soon, but anybody has any leads/tips I would absolutely be all ears (via DM) and would even exchange some good mule deer info on a low point unit in CO.

It’s a cow tag, but it’s a “trophy” to me, I grew up in CO so have never had the opportunity to have a moose tag in my pocket.

Have you looked at the CPW moose stats?
Last year there were 4 bull tags and 6 cow tags.
If you look at the Antler Measurement link it will tell you what drainage the moose were taken.
It’s a good place to start

I hunted a cow moose last year, different unit but what cnelk says is money. CPW has drainage information on their site, great place to start looking. If are hunting rifle Oct1 they will be paired up , mature cows with mature bull. Will be fun hunt.....

Last year my daughter shot a cow on Sept 10 that was already paired up with a good bull.
