Colorado Unit 34, 25/26.

Hi all. Have tag for November 12 in unit 34. Wondering if anyone has been up the mountain thru Coffee pot etc. Trying to see how access is and if any snow accumulation so far. Will be coming from both coasts and want to make sure we can get up the hill. Thanks!

12” of snow up top. Coffee Pot is accessible, but more snow is expected later this week.

Just made it back home from 34 early this morning. Colorado rescue and recovery was headed in as we were headed out. You will need 4wd and chains just to get around coffee pot and that is not a guarantee.

Hi all. Just headed home from 34. Road was impassable just before overlook before Coffee Pot. Hunters were in literally every corner in the road as well as road hunters. Must have seen 100 plus rigs opening morning. Was cold as hell down to 0 at night and highs in the teens. I lucked out and got a 180 inch buck. He was pushing a doe out of a steep canyon above the road headed to the private. Literally saw over 100 deer and only 6 total bucks. Rut action was turning on Wednesday when I left.

congrats elk man! great buck for any area. i live close by but have never deer hunted the unit. it has potential but i never liked the odds: weather-dependent, not a lot of public land, etc. But you did well! I used to shed hunt around there before they closed Jan 1 through May 1. All i find is boot tracks since then.

Great buck! Anyone going to 25/26 deer 4th season? Ill be headed there for it next wee. I Live in Grand Junction, ended up getting the tag recently on the leftover list so this will be a new area to venture into.
