They're probably from Denver . A lot of them come here to raft the Arkansas, or hike.

I wear a hat that says Bear Hunter on it. I've never gotten one negative comment on it. I do get positive comments though. You need to judge a town by the people who live here. Not the ones hanging out. This town depends on a tourist trade to survive. Fishing, rafting, hiking, and yes...hunting.

Well, if they're the ones hanging out in a town........that's all I have to go off of.;) Hard to separate the residents from the tourists, especially when 75% of the ones I see every time I'm there are the granola crowd. I'm usually in full camo when I come through to fill up with gas or grab a bite to eat. I try to at least lose the camo shirt before stopping for any period of time.

So, you stop for gas on the main drag through town, and eat at a restaurant more than likely on the main drag too, and you think you're seeing the locals? I haven't eaten out one time while living there. See any ranchers? That's who live there.

Look, I never said anything about locals. The discussion was about the liberal granola types taking over places. I've been stopping in or driving through these places for 45+ years. Times have changed.......never used to see any of them, now it's almost impossible to NOT see them congregated in these places. That has nothing to do with the "locals". And there are plenty of homes in town and new developments that are not occupied by ranchers. So there's more than just ranchers there that are "locals".

I love these places......or at least used to until they became a hotbed for the granola's. I have relatives that are third generation ranchers around Carbondale and Glenwood, but that doesn't change the fact that it has become a liberal hotspot.

Ridiculous. You're judging a town by the tourist, and you're one of them.

I think you've confused what I've said. Like I said, I love the town........but hate the fact that it's now a hotspot for the granola's. You can't deny that.....it's a fact. We judge everything by its characteristics, and if it draws that kind of crowd........yes, I'm judging that. That takes away nothing from the locals.

I just find it interesting that you're so offended by me pointing out the obvious. When I talk about this granola invasion in Carbondale with my relatives, they absolutely agree with me........and they are the locals.......ranchers. Don't be offended that others don't like this invasion.

It would be an invasion if they moved here. You'll know when that happens. We'll have a Starbucks.

You have to understand how much I hate everything about yuppies to understand where i'm coming from. If I really thought they were taking over BV i'd move.

If they want to come here, and spend their money it's fine. As long as they have no control of what happens here.

When did they end the spring season and what were the reasons for ending it?

Yep. Antis got it to a public vote and along with some Propagandi saying hunters kills sows with Cubs etc. the public voted. Majority of the voters being non hunters.

Now tons of bears are killed as "problem" bears. Which is a shame.
