Spring bear hunt unit 1 idaho

Good morning folks. Hope everyone's hunting season has been successful. I'm planning a spring bear hunt for unit 1. I'm looking for a hunting buddy if anyone is interested. Shoot me a message.

Is unit 1 not a controlled hunt only zone? Fall was my first time looking at Idaho Hunting and this was a zone I applied for but was not drawn.

So reading it is confusing. There is a fall controlled hunt for 1-1 but on the main regs it says unit 1 April 15th - June 15th.

I left the controlled hunt research still wondering if I should have applied for controlled hunts at all without plans to hunt any "regular" seasons. Clear as mud compounded by the fact that you must buy a license to apply for any controlled hunts.

I look forward to coming tho at some point, but probably with a wolf tag and bear tag and plans to drive around and check out controlled hunt units.

Unit 1 is OTC there's a controlled hunt to use hounds in the fall in a certain section of the unit since 1 is a no bait/no hound unit because of griz

That was over my head as a non-resident. I figured it was a special unit given they were only offering 15 tags.

Are you asking if these hunts are specific to hound hunting?

32-1 used to be a highly sought after bear tag, although the OTC tag is essentially the same, just limited to 1 mile of private.
