I'm contemplating putting in for a Colorado cow moose hunt for archery season this year. Or at least starting to build up points. I saw a yearling bull moose in the area last year so figured why not. Has anyone here hunted cow moose in CO? Any tips or threads you can point me to?

Pretty sure you need to put in for three years before your app is counted in the draw. At least that's how it is for a non resident bull tag.

Thanks. The stats look like everything requires 3 pp for cow so I guess I'll start accumulating points now.

Oh yeah, sure. Because I use C-notes as T.P. Why not. ;) Moose is my priority. I'm on the fence on whether I want to go for Goat. Either way, that will have to wait for next year for me to start accumulating points.

You could always sell a firearm since you're a bowhunter now!

It only costs $3 to apply. The only way it costs more is if you actually draw.......and that's not a bad thing.:) I'm still waiting for my tags. But I'm quite certain that they're waiting until I'm 80 to issue the goat and sheep archery tags. I'll show them.........I'll still go.

That's the spirit! I thought you had to have the money up front to put in and they send you a refund if you don't draw.?.

You have to front the cash for moose and they send u a check back if u don't draw. I use the credit card as the refund comes in time to pay it off in one shot. Or it has for me anyway.

True. No big deal......unless you draw and really don't have the money.;) But in that case you could always just turn it back in for a refund. But I think you'd be finding a way to pay for it if you drew.
