Has anyone over 60 without a hunter safety card taken the online course. I've been hunting for over 55 years
in 8 states and 2 Canada providences with only proof of holding prior hunting license. Is there a handbook to review the test before taking it on line, or is the test really just common sense questions.

Each state has different requirements. Some are age, some just proof of previous license. Since I was born well before Jan. 1949 I’m exempt anyway so what do I know.

Yes, Colorado has a study guide, just Google it.

Since I was also born a few years before January 1949 I had hunted every year from 1965 until 2011 being exempt from hunter safety requirements.

Then in 2011 my GF and I were vacationing in Hawaii and I learned about some of the hunting there and wanted to hunt there. Hawaii has a hunter safety requirement for all hunters, so I looked online, and saw that Montana had an online HS test.

So I went to that online test, paid my money and just took the test...no study guide or anything else. I only missed one question, something about hunting in a group, which I rarely do, so I passed. And because I had served active duty in the Army, I didn't have to do a range day with a regular HS class.

A week later I got my HS Certificate in the mail.

Unfortunately, I haven't booked a Hawaiian hunt, so my HS Certificate has just sat, unused, in my safe since I got it. In 2015 I did hunt a montain lion hunt in Colorado, but because of my age exemption, I didn't have to show my HS Certificate.
