Colorado draw question

I'm looking at putting in a unit with a group of buddies. I believe we can draw the unit with 0 points on first choice but pretty slim odds as second choice. I have 4 points and they have 0 so if I read it correct as a group draw we would all be put in at 0 points. If we draw the tag would that use my points up since it would be my first selection?
