So I'm heading back out west this year for my second elk hunt and im taking my ATV this year. The laws state the gun must be unloaded in a hard or soft enclose case. Whats a soft case? I have a hard time finding a case that fits my custom rifle with bipod and suppressor. I was looking into one of the mounted cases but my budget is already at its max for the season. When i read soft enclosed case does that mean one of the cloth padded zipper enclosed cases?
I get the idea behind the law not complaining about that at all i just don't understand the difference between it being in a soft case on a gun rack on my the front of my atv or secured in my hunting pack which would take longer to get it out than the gun case. I was going to just use my standard hard case but its not cheap and its bulky. Is a soft cloth case that zips completely enclosed enclosed secured with gun mounts legal or should i just save up and last minute get a hard case that mounts? I'm using a 7prc that i put on a MTD field stock and with the scope and suppressor it just makes getting a case that is perfect a pain.
