Passed at 120-130 4x4 this afternoon. Relocated the inline buck but he’s not as big as I thought. Gonna keep combing through them. Will likely shoot him if I get the opportunity still.

Lots of does and smaller bucks. Went up high this evening and found some does. No mature bucks last few days

Couldn’t pass up a big forky this morning. First mule deer, so I wasn’t being too picky. Now I can have fun and help my dad and brother get something. On another note, the rain/snow earlier in the week made some of the roads the slickest crap I’ve ever seen. We had to leave a truck in the field over night and my dad and brother hiked out 4 miles for fear they’d run off a cliff. Be safe out there!

That's a hell of a forky! I wouldn't be too mad about one so tall and wide.

Filled my tag today on the biggest buck we’ve seen on public. Nothing crazy but boy was I happy. Also, sometimes the copper bullets do TMK level damage. That’s the bucks heart after a shot at 330. 130 Gr Hornady CX. Through the humerus, out behind the shoulder.

This and a few of the deer I've seen out in the field this year have given me a new appreciation for 'forkies'. Plenty of deer id be happy to shoot, regardless of points. Congrats!

Well good luck and finish strong, been at my place in the hills… 0 snow, and 50 degrees at 9k ft :/ no bueno, my buddy has been hunting hard, seen a couple shooters but hasn’t lined up a shot yet

It was 50 degrees and sunny at 7k in NW CO today. Can’t believe it was the first day for the local ski resort.

Same, south central and not a flake of snow to be seen. Supposedly some coming in the AM but this is wild. This is my first 4th season hunt and I was expecting frigid, but this weather is nicer than 2nd. Definitely adds a layer of challenge to it, cant find a cow to save my life. Been watching bucks chase does for the last couple days though, theyre definitely rutting.

I was up above 10k today in NW CO trying to find some dusky grouse, elk tracks everywhere. Snow varied from a few inches to knee deep. Tons of elk sign up high.

Dry as a pop corn fart on the front range, deer were rutting but the heat and dry made for tough hunting, silver lining is I’m sure lots of great bucks lived haha, now we need some snow, just steady evenly spaced storms to bring moisture but not decimate animals.

Had a tough one in west central. Saw plenty of decent bucks rutting hard on private of course. Passed on plenty of forkies and a small 4pt. Had decent bucks at 600yds + moving fast in heavy cover at first and last light. With the 60 deg weather, they didnt move much during the day despite the rut going hard.

4th rifle elk was tough where I was at N central Co. Very dry and warm. Few shots heard and nothing hanging. Lots of folks left Saturday a.m. Saw a few medium bucks pushing does but nothing big. Oh well some animals will make thru to next year!

I was elk hunting in Southern CO and had a large bodied buck similar to yours walk up behind me. I couldn't believe how tall he stood and he had really large tines but he trotted off to fast to get a picture. We walked in Monday morning into 1-3" of snow, snowed a couple more times during the week then Thursday was pretty wet and awful with 5-6 inches of wet snow. We bailed early yesterday before the lastest round of snow hit the mountain. I saw this young buck on my way in on Monday but he didn't care about me at all.
