Hello, just doing as much research as I can about my zone and the deer that I will be chasing. It'll be my first season chasing them with a rifle in Colorado but I have hunted deer in other states before so I have a baseline knowledge. Any tips and tricks to hunting big bucks during 2nd season would be great. I have heard and read a mixed bag tactics such as hunt hard in the mornings if the days are hotter, find the elevation the majority are hanging around in, and just plainly spend time on the glass throughout the day. Other info about general deer movements this season as of now from anyone who has been out would be great too. Thanks in advance for anything sent this way! Good luck to everyone.

There was a big fire in that unit a few years ago. Access is limited with a lot of brush country

The weather is going to play a factor in this. If it is still warm the big bucks are going to be higher in elevation. So get up as high as you can and glass then glass some more.

Be mindful as the weather can change quick and you need to be able to bail at any time.

What’s considered warm for second season. I’m heading their tomorrow and it’ll be highs in the mid 50s. Will the deer still be holding up higher?
