Got my archery tag, it was 4th choice unit but it beats not getting to go. plus didn't have to burn a point so that's nice.

Just expecting an awesome adventure, and hopeful for an opportunity!

4th choice, 3rd rifle season. Private access to nat forest granted from a good friend. Will be nice to roll out of bed and start hunting but damn, there are several lions in the area!

A Pack Of Wolves Killed 19 Elk In A Rare Surplus Killing

This article is BS. Those elk tipped over dead from necrotic stomatitis. Wolves might have fed on some of them but they basically all died from a rare outbreak of a disease associated with muddy conditions on a feedground

The unit we have been hunting 2nd choice doe on while building points had a 75% decrease in tag allocation. No tags for any of us. Thought the unit was south and east enough to not be hit hard, but apparently CPW thought otherwise, and I support the decision. Drew our rifle bull elk and pronghorn muzzy tags, so certainly not complaining. Hopefully the deer rebound.

My old man drew 44 - now we have a day to decide if we are willing to risk a lifetime of points given the winter kill situation.
