What do you guys recommend for cold weather? I'm finding that me and the cold just don't agree like we used too. Looking for some decent stuff for maybe late season or atleast next year. As much as I'd love the big brand stuff like Sitka I also can't afford to drop 200 bucks on just a pair of pants. Especially with having to get my son some stuff too lol

A heater body suit works great for long uphill mountain hikes. Make sure to put the suit on before you start hiking. You will be warm. Just stuff your longbow inside the suit sideways and it should all be good in there with your buddy heater inside one leg of the suit and 20# propane tank inside the other. You won’t even need to tie the laces on your lacrosse ice king boots.

If you are going this route, you can strap your electronic coyote calling machine to the outside of the suit, along with the Swarovski BTX spotting scope and night vision goggles. Some guys like to hang those off their necks, but others have their cameraman take it along so when the first buck shows up they can be ready to pull the trigger.

Uhhh, you need to be a little more specific on the conditions and animal you intend to hunt.

Question, how cold of weather are you talking about? Will you be exposed to the wind? Second question is are you sitting for long periods of time or moving around in cold weather? Sitting all day in cold weather is much different than hiking around in cold weather all day.

I typically transition from the man made synthetics to all wool once it gets into the 20s.

I’ve experience better warmth with wool as a base layer.

Wool Socks & wool pants as a base layer.

Last year I found a like new pair of cabelas wooltimate bibs and parka. They are truly amazing; unfortunately, these particular ones aren’t made any more.

Found the Kryptek Vellus stuff on sale a few years ago and it’s great for cold weather sitting or slow walking. You can always find it on sale.
