I am looking for a good set of late season gloves. I have narrowed it down to the FL grizzly 2.0 or the Kuiu Northstar glomitt. What are your guys recommendation??

i have ran the northstars down to about 10 degrees and high winds. they worked great when actively moving. when i sat and glassed for long period of times, my finger tips would get cold pretty quickly. I switched from northstar to super down glassing mittens, haven't looked back since.

Marmot Expedition Mitts with a handwarmer will get your hands from numb to tropical right quick. Even without a handwarmer they are too warm to wear while hiking. But early morning and for glassing/still hunting they are bomb. Ive yet to find a single glove to do it all...I usually bring 2 or 3 sets depending on conditions. Bringing one pair is asking for trouble in my book.

You really cannot beat hestra gloves. They are dexterous, warm, and durable. I have shot elk while wearing my hestra gloves that keep my hands warm in single digits. I think hunting company gloves don't come close to them.

What type of hunting ... bow/gun, stand/stalking?

What temps, wind and moisture?

I never wear matching gloves or mittens as one hand is trigger ready and one is holding the weapon stock or grip. That means one is protected and and one is exposed. With a mitten on an exposed hand you can add a hand warmer which makes a big difference. On the trigger hand, a hand warmer in the pocket and a glove to allow for nimbleness is really good. I usually carry a couple of levels of gloves and really warm mittens with inner gloves. Has worked well when spending 8-10 hours in temps in the lower single digits to teens.

I have the Sitka coldfront gloves and they seem to work fine but the guys from Alaska swear by the insulated chilly grip gloves that are about 1/3 of the price.

Prepare to gasp at the price though. Have an earlier version of these that are still holding up, and you can swap the inner liner out for something else if you want.

Trying a gortex liner mitt over wool and or insulated gloves this year. I think this is a promising system.
