Well dang I hate you guys lol $110 for a thermos is insane But I figure three weeks of late season elk hunts plus other short trips it'll pay for itself.

When below freezing or cold/dark I bring a hydroflask and suffer the weight penalty. If I’m camping and it’s mostly above freezing, a half liter Nalgene (bpa free) with a beer coozie works great for me. Gives me more water capacity if I need it during the day and helps me fill my bladder if water source is small/gross.

I’m a get that black coffee in my bloodstream as fast as possible guy, so this may not work for the sippers.

Hot coffee in the 500 ml Nalgene worked well for me too. By the time I leave camp and get to a glassing spot, it's cooled down enough to drink without scalding.

Boiling water in plastic isn't my favorite, but don't do it often.

Not sure it qualifies as lightweight, but zojirushi mugs with the lockable lids are awesome. They'll keep your coffee hot for hours and hours, the lid seals tightly, and it has a lock so it won't pop open in your pack.

2X I bought a 32oz and a smaller one for my SIL. I will keep hot all day best I've ever had and the top locks for a pack. Nothing better.

Snow peak 450 double wall is one of my favorite pieces of gear.Used a shit ton for 12-15 years.
Perfect size in hand.
Lid as well.
They have a 600 but not sure about it.
The 450 is about perfect for coffee in morning and a wiskey at night.

I have a 450 and an H300 in my camp box, both with the silicone drink tops. They nest together saving some space. 300 is my cocktail tumbler. No handles on the H300. The H300 might be perfect for someone wanting smaller, lighter.

Tested it yesterday on the mountain. Worked great. I think I'll take the cap lid and the sipper lid next time. So I can stop and make the coffee then if need be I can keep hunting and just throw the coffee in my pack.

It definitely was a new lucky item. Didn't see a single elk or hear one.

But without good coffee the hunt would have sucked even more

Snow Peak bottle is very nice , basically an ultralight Yeti cup. Coffee, cold drinks and cocktails - all good!

Wont be taking it on a backpack hunt

There's nothing UL about a dedicated coffee/tea mug. But for short local trips I don't mind a bit of extra weight. However, like a Helinox chair, it's definitely a luxury item.

I like the new MSR 375ml double wall Titan mug. For me it has the right volume. I found the various double Ti 450ml mugs have too much volume, which also makes them heavier. A 300ml mug doesn't have enough volume to handle my go-to coffee packet, which makes 10oz's (300ml). So, 375 ml with a lid is perfect (a lid really does help keep the contents warmer, longer).

The MSR weigh's 4.16 oz's on the scale. While not a vaccum mug, in my testing I found it loses heat less rapidly than the GSI mug (which was my old go to). The GSI, while .6 oz lighter, holds more than I need, is bulkier, loses heat more quickly, and is plastic. I try not to eat/drink hot anything out of plastic any more.
