On a scouting trip the other weekend I had a packet gourmet margarita in my Nalegene. It was amazing. Until I ended up trying to make coffee in my jug the next morning

I'm wanting to get a large like a 16oz capacity coffee mug. Preferably something with a lid. I've got a small msr cup but if I'm going to be sitting and glassing for a while I'd like to have a big cup to sip off of.

Looking at maybe a double wall titanium. Mug. But I can't find one with a leak proof lid.

Not sure it qualifies as lightweight, but zojirushi mugs with the lockable lids are awesome. They'll keep your coffee hot for hours and hours, the lid seals tightly, and it has a lock so it won't pop open in your pack.

Thanks guys! Yeah definitely not a total UL guy. But try to save some weight where I can. Try to find a balance between comfort pack comfort.

I got you, cuz. But prepared for sticker shock, though. I bought one of these a few years ago on Prime Day, but its no longer available on amazon.

Double wall titanium. Comes with 3 lids: a closable sipping lid, a thermos lid and a cold lid you keep in your freezer as the thermos will accommodate a can. I usually bring both the sipping lid and the thermos lid with me so I can throw it in my pack without leaking.

I have several of the 20oz versions of the mug I linked above. The website doesn't give an accurate weight, but I can weigh one for you.

These have a ceramic inner and a double wall stainless setup. No leak. No stainless taste mixed with your coffee. Even if you think it’s too heavy for you, you should get it for the truck. 😁

I will say, its probably the lightest effective actual thermos you'll find. Drink half your coffee in the morning and want to throw the rest in your pack without it spilling everywhere? Check.
Yeah I have used mine everyday for the last 4.5 years and it’s my all time favorite possession. I’ll be buried with mine.

Not nearly as fancy as the other suggestions here, but at 99g and $12, it's been awesome for me for me over the last 8-10 years.
GSI Infinity Mug

I think almost everyone has owned one of these at some point. I have one that is sun bleached and ragged. I was mainly looking to move away from drinking out of plastic as much as possible. I switched from the ol' Nalgene to a single wall, titanium water bottle with a neoprene sleeve and ditched the GSI for a double wall, titanium thermos. Of course, I still eat out of mylar bags and my reservoirs are HydraPaks, but there's no practical work around for those.

Do those seal well? I have looked at getting one but didn't figure I could just toss it in my pack and hike.
You know, they really do. I’ve been very impressed with it and find myself contemplating just leaving it at home at most trips, but always end up grabbing it and throwing it in. I just enjoy being able to sip coffee out of a mug while glassing in the AM (or I’ve burnt my lips too many times on my Ti mugs, ha!).

I’ve had the thing tip completely over and not lose any liquid; seals better than most of my to-go mugs at home.

Edit: just realized your caveat of “throwing it in the pack to hike…” You’ll definitely have a wet pack after that, haha! Sorry. Misread it the first time around.

A little off topic from the OP, but I have had great luck protecting my lips with the Snow Peak Hotlips on my Toaks 750mL.
