CO Leftovers: In Person?

Anyone have any luck camping in front of a CPW office to snag a leftover tag? I've tried online the last two years and have gotten the shaft despite getting into the system right when it opens.

I usually don't get lucky online and have never tried in person, but have heard and read a lot of the high stakes tags are basically vetted for on terminals by insiders. Let me know how the experience goes. I have some gripes with the "Leftover" tags and the system in general.

Back in the phone in days we did. My cousins who live right across the state line would write all our info down and be there early on opening day.

I tried to call in a couple years ago instead of online since I never have any luck that way. The representative on the phone said she would try but that she was entering my info into the same page I would and she was racing everyone online too.

CO’s leftover system is junk as it stands. I’m hopeful for the coming changes.

About 30 years ago I would camp out the DOW parking lot all night long to be first/second in line - just to get a cow tag.

Now they give them away like candy

Skunked again this year. The tag I wanted was gone in seconds.

I had a list of 4 tags for my son, went down the list with the red error on each one.

I’m pretty skilled at getting reissued tags and I was in a better spot than ever to get a low demand tag with more than one available. None available when I tried. The only answer is that they were posted and bought before 9am.

I actually got a tag, there were 2 available. It was a bear tag, but still surprised I snagged it.

Something seems off to me. There is no way all three different tags I tried are gone by 9:00 AM. 5-7 were still "available". To add this was the first time I haven't drawn for my primary unit in 15 years. The secondary had 5 tags .. no luck. Leftover had 7 ... no luck, and I was hitting submit seconds after it hit 9:00 AM.

I just went back in and when I hit confirm it now gives a Captcha pop-up ... which didn't happen earlier.

Congrats to the fast fingers out there, deer tags seemed to be gone within 2 seconds. Managed to pull a couple tags regardless!

First time trying for a leftover tag online. Some of they hype and all of the disappointment happened for sure. Kicked me to the back of the line when I tried to switch from deer to elk. (Elk were probably gone anyways).

I knew it was a long shot, but no luck on scoring the one leftover 4th rifle deer tag in my area.

You do realize how many people are gunning for these tags right?

I missed the deer tag I was after, and I had my hunt code put in and submitted 3 seconds after clock struck 9 lol. People are getting quick with it haha
