CO GMU 45 Elk Archery

Looks like I'll be headed to Unit 45 in CO this September...last week of archery for some Elk. Has anyone spent any time on the ground here? Curious on any thoughts realted to GMU 45 and ideas on spots to check for Elk.

Also - is there anyway of finding out if 45 typcially has any mulie archery tags left over come Aug?

Its very unlikely that there will be unit 45 (45/35/36) archery tags leftover.

There will be an abundance of tags.... those are OTC units

I will be there as well. Sept 3-16. I did spend a few days scouting there in late June. Mostly on the backroads getting a feel for the area, 2 day in the woods. Lotts of thick timber, rugged boulder drainages. Not alot of openings, plenty of water (then at least). Saw plenty of sign and good looking country. Saw a few nice mulies, but I didn't draw the tag.
