Have a public land archery hunt planned the first week of the season in a former OTC unit in Colorado. Unfortunately my hunting buddy fell off a horse and broke his back yesterday. He’ll be ok but not in time. Have a few great hunting partners but none can take off work on short notice. I’ve been on many DIY public land elk and caribou hunts finding success more often than not. Ill be going solo now but would prefer a tag along or another hunter.
It will be a backpack in with lots up and plenty of deadfall. Did I mention steep and deadfall?
