Who’s hunting mule deer here in CO for 3rd rifle? Don’t post unit #s but we are probably fine to post general geographic locations, like NW, SW etc. I’ll be in NW CO looking for a decent buck. Freezer is empty of venison so I won’t be too picky.

My brother and I will be hunting NW Colorado for the first time in a couple of years. Will be interesting to see how the herds have faired with the winter kill.

i'm in! south central CO. good grief it looks warm...

I have a freezer full of NM elk so I'm gonna hold out for a good'un...

Good luck to you all, encouraging to hear so many reports on rutting activity...

It’s warm here in NW CO. Last year we had a foot snow for 3rd rifle, this year looks hot and dry. Should make getting around easier though. Last year was a PIA for getting around in the snow, especially once it melted and turned to mud. A few pics from last year.Resized_20241108_153444_1731685413659.jpegIMG_5654.jpegIMG_5669.jpeg

My boys have buck tags but can only hunt Sat/Sun and probably aren't going to be overly picky (and we need the meat unless an elk drops in this same timeframe so we know we have an elk), between them they have a cow and a bull tag in case we cross paths with a legal elk while they are out.

My buddy has a buck tag in a better unit, he's gonna joint us Sat/Sun and then pivot over to his unit. I'll join him after running my boys home. I'll hunt bull elk and have a fall back doe deer tag I can quickly fill at the end of the week depending on how our freezer situation is playing out over the course of the week.

3/4th are my favorite to be out watching Muleys! No tag this year, but might be out helping a buddy on his late season hunt with some glass, good luck to all! Hope you find the one you are looking for!

I'll be going solo in NW part of the state. Looking forward to the warmer temps compared to last year (although it will be harder to find fresh sign without the snow). Still got some leftover in the freezer from last years buck, so I'm going to try and get a nice one. I also have a 4th rifle cow elk tag in the same area, so hopefully I'll be able to get at least one this year!

Leaving in the morning for west central part of the state.
Like everyone mentioned gonna be hot and dry first part of the season looks like the last two or three days. Temperature is gonna go down quite a bit.
I’ll be there the whole season regardless.

No buck tags in our camp this year but we’ll be there looking for an OTC bull. Always exciting to see a good buck or two, keeps the hope alive for the years when I do draw a buck tag. Good luck to the lucky guys holding a buck tag this year.

I’ll be in SW for my wife’s hunt, along with family and friends. Less youth tags than prior years, but there should still be a lot of meat hanging by the end of the week!

Saw a bunch of mule deer out hunting elk during first rifle. Nothing enormous but generally saw deer wherever we glassing for elk if we looked long enough.

My two boys have tags. Leaving Sunday, have the week off. Each has harvested a buck before, so trying for next age class up.

Good luck everyone. Always a good time hunting CO.
